01 / ABOUT
Curious by nature. Deliberate by practice.
I'm Fayokunmi, a software engineer based in Lagos. I build web products across frontend interfaces, backend services, databases, and deployment. I started in graphic design, which still shapes how I think about clarity, hierarchy, and the details people notice.

HOW I WORK
I turn product and design decisions into reliable engineering systems.
I start by clarifying the problem, then design the smallest useful system around it. I plan for loading, empty, and failure states, and make sure the product remains usable on slower connections and smaller screens.
I choose tools based on the product's needs. The result should respond quickly, be straightforward to maintain, and keep technical complexity out of the user's way.

Moved from graphic design into frontend development
I started translating my design skills into HTML and CSS, learning how layout, hierarchy, and interaction work in the browser.
Built a stronger frontend foundation
I completed Codewell challenges, built responsive websites from design references, and began developing applications with React.
Deepened my React practice
I shipped more React applications and strengthened my understanding of component design, state management, routing, and reusable frontend architecture.
Started backend engineering at AltSchool Africa
I joined the Backend Engineering Diploma programme and worked with Node.js, Express, TypeScript, and NestJS to build APIs and server-side applications.
Expanded into backend systems
I added Go, modular API design, middleware, authentication, automated testing, queues, and production operations to my backend toolkit.
Building complete web products
I now work across React and Next.js interfaces, Node.js and Go services, PostgreSQL, payments, background jobs, testing, and deployment.
